According to International Diabetes Federation report on Global Diabetes Scorecard Tracking Progress for Action Ghana has a frame work for the monitoring and surveillance of diabetes but is not routinely implemented. The frame work includes incidence/prevalence of diabetes and prevalence of raised blood pressure.
Health Education on Wheels Inc. collaborated with Akropong Akwapim Clinic and the Aged Program of Christ Presbyterian Church to provide diabetes and raised blood pressure screening on February 16,2018 at Christ Presbyterian Church. Health Education on Wheels program is based on a health care model that works to prevent disease rather than cure it. The program focuses primarily on people with prediabetes or with established risk factors for type 2 diabetes. Participants needing care were referred to the Akropong clinic for follow up.
Our sincere thanks go to the staff of the Akropong Clinic, The Aged Program of the Christ Presbyterian Church for their support.
